Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on PEACE! When we learn what the voice of God sounds like, and that His voice and instruction - over our own thoughts or feelings about a circumstance - are more important for us to follow... and that they're the only true path of life... we can listen confidently and attentively, knowing that God speaks, guides, and desires to lead those who listen.

He wants us to come together, that His love might shine through us in a peaceful togetherness that displays His love and oneness. We miss this when we divide into groups based only on things we agree with.

When we live a life in the flesh, we tend to react defensively, selfishly and without confidence in God... but when we live in the Spirit, peace reigns in our hearts, and we're able to face challenges confidently and calmly, because we know God is in control!

When our roots are strong in Jesus, whatever happens to us, isn't nearly as scary as what is happening inside is... comforting.

When we learn, we grow... when we grow... we become strong... and so we can joyfully accept hardship as an opportunity to grow in joy, which we know - will also make us stronger!

This is why this passage is so important for us. We can follow the signs to real love, and learn to identify when something is a counterfeit... or a counter fit for the real thing.

Today, we're reminded that God didn't wait for us to be clean, or get our acts together before showing us His love... in fact, Jesus died for us - that we might be made clean by His blood... washing us, and making us holy. He didn't stay far off when we were sinners... he drew near, and His love helped make us clean.
