Generation Kids Daily Devo

Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on FAITHFULNESS! It is tempting to want to chase after worldly wealth and possessions, and sometimes we bend our character and morals to get what we might only get if we do... but staying faithful to God's calling on our lives, and to the storing up of eternal Kingdom treasures is a sure sign of the Spirit's power at work in us!

Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on FAITHFULNESS! When we are living in the Spirit and being empowered, we will bear fruit. But it's possible to look like we're living in the Spirit for a moment... we can do all the right things... but the one thing we can't fake, is fruit. The only way to bear true fruit, is to stay connected to the tree, or the vine. Otherwise... we become sticks... that look like parts of the tree, but who aren't connected to the true source of life.

Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on FAITHFULNESS! When we show that we can be trusted in the small, unseen and seemingly unimportant or low profile parts of life - with how we show up, and in the ways we love others... God knows that He can trust us with more. When there are breadcrumbs of pride or a lack of commitment, God might just let us learn what those breadcrumbs tell us about ourselves, so that we can learn and grow before He trusts us with more.

Faithfulness is all about commitment and loyalty so something that we truly believe in, and are willing to hold as most important over other options. God desires for us to live and GIVE our lives to Him as living sacrifices, knowing that our reward is great... and worth more than anything we might get in the meantime!

God has blessed us beyond what so many across the globe have, and with great riches comes great responsibility. Today, we look at how we might reconsider our own wealth, while we also build our heavenly wealth, by giving what He's given us to those who have less than we do.

God has given us gifts, and ways of expressing the goodness of God we've experienced that will be on display for the whole world, to see our good works and praise our Father in Heaven... that is, if we let that light within us shine, and don't keep it to ourselves! So, for goodness sake... LET IT SHINE!

When someone says that they have faith in God, but their actions don't follow the trust in God they claim to have, the Bible says it may not be real faith... because real faith brings about the Spirit's power, and when the Spirit's power is at work... so are we, doing good works - which shows the world that our faith is the real deal!

Goodness is one of those things that many people try to fake... many people try to show, because they know it's a good thing to show... but their hearts aren't really filled with goodness... sometimes it's just what's on the outside that people see, but God sees what's in the heart... and He knows real goodness. Goodness that comes through the Spirit.

Just like a tall person seems to have been born to play basketball (though it's not always true), we as Christians ARE born to do good works... good works that God already has planned for us... if we walk in the Spirit, goodness will grow, and others will be blessed!

We all have to watch ourselves, that we don't start to look down on other people for the things that they do, because we all came from places where we wrestled with sin. God's strategy for winning people over isn't shame, or guilting them... it's kindness, and it's what He wants for us to use as our own strategy as well!
