Generation Kids Daily Devo

Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on KINDNESS! We're told in Proverbs that when we are kind to one another, it's like caring for ourselves, as we care for each other. What we give out, we're more likely to get. When we love others, it's like loving ourselves... but when we love only ourselves, we aren't likely to receive the love we want, or even need.

God has shown us a great kindness in offering us forgiveness for our sins through Jesus... but He desires for us to honor Him with how we show others the forgiveness we've been shown. He wants us to "pay it forward!"

Kindness is a forward facing fruit... meaning it's a fruit that's meant to be shared with others. How we treat people, with a warmth and care will demonstrate the fruit of kindness... our passage today also shows us how our kindness can lead us to standing for justice, as we humbly offer ourselves to God bigger mission for the world!

Like 100's of years, type patience... but what we are waiting for will make all the waiting worth it... He's always shown up, like He said He would... so let's anxiously wait for Him to return, because one day... we'll finally get to see Him face to face!

Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on PATIENCE! Today, we learn about how the Spirit empowers and enables us to care for people, beyond our ability to muster love for them on our own... The same powerful Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave lives in us, and enables us to love - even beyond our own personal thresholds for their lack of love back in our direction. When we persist in our love, we will be rewarded and empowered even more!

Today we see how important it is to remain humble and patient on the Lord to exhibit confidence and power than it is for us to try and show those things in ourselves. It is better to be quiet and confident in God than to be arrogant and fall flat on our faces as we try and prove ourselves.

Which means that if we give up, or get antsy... we might miss an amazing breakthrough!

Our focus for the next couple of months is all about the Fruits of the Spirit! This week, we are focusing on PEACE! God desires for us to love when we are hated... to care for when we are neglected... to live in peace in the middle of confrontation. His Kingdom, and His Way of life for us to follow is upside down from the world's logic... but we can have peace with everyone when He is our focus. We, who were once separated from God by our sin, can be how God draws unbelievers into Himself, through the light shining in a people who are often reviled, oppressed or laughed at. His Kingdom and His Ways are, indeed, upside down.
